Care Meets Community

Challenge

Helping donors see the full scope of Hanna Center

As Hanna Center refined its structure, there was a need to clearly present the organization’s four branches of work to an audience of donors and stakeholders. The challenge was not only to inform, but to connect. Through one short gala film, we needed to bring together foster care, community support services, mental health and wellness, and training and research into a single story that felt human, cohesive, and clear.

For Hanna Center’s 2025 Changemakers Gala, the purpose of the film was to bring clarity to a pivotal moment in the organization’s evolution. As Hanna Center continues refining and restructuring its services, this piece was created to help donors, supporters, and key stakeholders clearly understand the organization’s four branches of work: Residential (foster care), Community Support Services, Mental Health and Wellness Services, and Training and Research.

Running just over three minutes, the film wove together multiple voices and stories from across the organization to show how these branches function both distinctly and together. Through perspectives from youth in foster care, community-based and recreational programming, and training efforts, the video helped illustrate the depth and breadth of Hanna Center’s impact. Rather than presenting each service in isolation, the film positioned them as part of one interconnected system of care serving the wider community.

At a gala where many in the room were donors and high-level stakeholders, it was essential that the message be both emotionally compelling and strategically clear. This film helped translate organizational complexity into a story people could understand and connect with—showing not only who Hanna Center serves, but how its different branches work together to create meaningful, lasting impact.
